over ons

We started the Koetshuis at Ammersoyen Castle from a passion for receiving guests and for fresh, healthy and authentic food. At the Koetshuis we only use fresh ingredients, purchased as much as possible from local entrepreneurs: fresh bread and pastries, organic vegetables and tomatoes, fresh fish and free-range meat. We also think the Koetshuis is the most beautiful location to receive people for celebrating a party, a wedding, a work-related meeting, a group of friends or farewell. We strive to make every meeting an original success.

  • Ammersoyen is one of the best preserved medieval castles in the Netherlands. The castle has four corner towers, an outer bailey and is completely moated. A typical Dutch moated castle.

From monastery to washing machine factory, Ammersoyen Castle has had various functions over time. As a result, it has long been forgotten that medieval history is still tangible. In 1957, Geldersch Landschap & Kasteelen was able to acquire the castle, which was badly damaged by the war. After the restoration, the inhabited, medieval atmosphere returned. The interior also has a medieval character with a knight's hall and an attic full of weapons and canal finds. All together it offers a beautiful picture of life in a castle. The canal was excavated during the restoration work. Numerous objects that were used at the castle were found in it. These utensils made of metal, earthenware and glass revive five centuries of castle history.
